Jagdeo Singh back in court
ATTORNEY Jagdeo Singh was back in court yesterday. Just days after he was freed from prison, Singh was at the Hall of Justice, Port-of-Spain, yesterday, getting acquainted once more with the surroundings where he once practised for 12 years before he was arrested on three charges of corruption in December 2001. Singh, 39, was freed by the Privy Council last Thursday and he was released later that night from the Maximum Security Prison. A trimmer-looking Singh walked about meeting fellow attorneys and staff at the Hall of Justice. He was also there to get his papers in order and pay up his fees, so he could resume his legal practice. He told Newsday he was happy to be back, that he wanted to put what happened behind him, and move forward again. Singh admitted that it would be hard, but he was a fighter and planned to take things one day at a time.
