WIPA send WICB another proposal
THE West Indies Players’ Association have issued another proposal to the West Indies Cricket Board in the hope of resolving their current impasse over the Clause 5 Match/Tour contracts. According to WIPA president Dinanath Ramnarine, his organisation is making every effort to ensure that the tour of Sri Lanka takes place with the best players chosen on merit and cricketing ability. He said this new WIPA proposal was in response to a counter-proposal made by the WICB dated June 25, to that which the players’ organisation put forward on June 22. Ramnarine said, "it is WIPA’s considered view that having regard to all the present circumstances our proposal is both fair and responsible to all parties. And without detailing his organisations’ proposal, Ramnarine said WIPA were now awaiting an urgent response from the WICB.
