Tobago, Connection earn full points
TOBAGO UNITED and W Connection were in victorious mood in the T&T Pro League Under-16 and Under-18 Divisions, as ninth round action was held last Saturday. Tobago United hammered Caledonia AIA/Fire 4-0 in their Under-16 clash at the Larry Gomes Stadium Training Field, Arima while their Under-18 outfit crushed the Fire lads 4-1. In the first match of the double-header, Brandon Rupert netted a pair for the Tobagonians, with Chad de Freitas and Kareem Richardson adding one apiece. Goals by Stefan St Louis (sixth minute), national Under-17 striker Kyle McIvor (7th), Makesi Lewis (31st) and Adrian Foncette (83rd) were the goalscorers for Tobago in the Under-18s with a consolation by Shane Glasgow (38th).
In their Under-16 duel at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella, Connection trounced United Petrotrin 5-0 while, in the Under-18s, the ‘Savonetta lads’ whipped the “Oil Lads” 2-0. Marvin Manswell struck twice for Connection Under-16s, in the 43rd and 75th minutes, with one apiece from Kerron Gray (19th), Keston Smith (21st) and Isaiah Smith (73rd). And, in the Under-18 fixture, Connection got strikes from Devon Drayton (55th) and Kerron Smith (88th). CL Financial San Juan Jabloteh and Defence Force had conflicting results at the Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva. Defence Force won their Under-16 fixture 2-1 while Jabloteh inflicted a 4-2 win in the Under-18s.
In the Under-16 battle, Brent Abraham and Martin Mohammed were on target for the Army-Coast Guard combination while Trinidad and Tobago Under-17 defender Khaleem Hyland pulled one back for Jabloteh. But Jabloteh exacted a measure of revenge in the Under-18s, with items from TT Under-17 playmaker Shastri Spencer, Elijah Manners, Terryl Elwin and Jonathan Romain, while Rennie Castillo and Leonson Anderson found the target for Defence Force.
