Rain halts youth league fixtures

RAIN had the final say as five out of the six scheduled tenth round of matches, in the T&T Pro League Under-16 and Under-18 Divisions, were postponed yesterday. At the Sangre Grande Recreation Ground, a waterlogged field prevented any play between North East Stars and United Petrotrin. And a similar occurrence at the Larry Gomes Stadium Training Field, Arima forced the cancellation of both Under-16 and Under-18 games between Caledonia AIA/Fire and Defence Force.

Persistent heavy morning downpours also resulted in the abandonment of the Under-18 clash between CL Financial San Juan Jabloteh and Tobago United, at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo. But, in the earlier match-up, Jabloteh and Tobago Under-16 outfits battled to a 2-2 draw, with Stephen Knox netting a double for Jabloteh, who trailed 2-0 at the halftime interval. Round 11 of the Under-16 and Under-18 Divisions will be contested on Tuesday.
