Collymore sisters grab gold in Long Course


THE Collymore sisters, Ayeisha and Kimba, each grabbed a gold medal on the opening night of the annual National Long Course Swimming Championships, at the Marlins Swim Pool, Westmoorings on Thursday night.


Ayeisha, of Blue Dolphins, claimed the girls’ 15-and-over 200-metre backstroke in a time of two minutes 33.21 seconds, with clubmate Renee Pouchet 2:39.30 and Tidal Wave’s Donna Wickham 2:39.65 trailing.


And Kimba, also of Blue Dolphins, took the girls’ 15-and-over 400m freestyle in 5:00.65, followed by Marlins’ Chantal Redon 5:02.39 and Pouchet 5:18.09.


Meanwhile, host club Marlins lead the team standings with 95 points, ahead of Blue Dolphins 73 and Tidal Wave 47. The meet will continue today.
