Mom of two dies from injuries suffered in car crash
A 28-year-old mother of two succumbed to injuries suffered in a car accident on Saturday. Sangeeta Ramsaran, 28, died at San Fernando General Hospital on Monday, two days after suffering massive head injuries. Her five year old son Visham was thrown through the windscreen of a Mazda 323 car driven by her husband Winston. Visham is listed in critical condition at the San Fernan-do General Hospital, while his eight-year-old brother Vishal is recuperating slowly. Winston Ramsaran, the the dead woman’s husband, is in serious condition and has not yet been told of the death of his wife. Yesterday, he remained in a semi-conscious condition at hospital.
Reports revealed that around 3 pm on Saturday, Sangeeta, her husband Win-ston, and their two children were in a car heading north along the Solomon Hochoy Highway. The family was on its way to attend a ceremony known as “cooking night” in Cha-guanas, when upon reaching Claxton Bay, Winston lost control of the car which hit a median and overturned. Sangeeta and Visham, who were seated in the front passenger seat, were thrown through the windscreen and suffered massive head injuries. The funeral for the mother of two will take place today at Montrose, Chaguanas. Ramsaran is the 98th road fatality for the year.
