Connection shoot down D/Force 4-0
W CONNECTION showed no sort of rustiness in their month-long lay-off as they crushed Defence Force 4-0 as the T&T Pro League Senior Division restarted on Saturday. In front of a sparse crowd at the Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva, the “Savonetta lads” got a double from striker Andre Toussaint, in the 11th and 68th minutes, with one apiece from midfielder Gefferson Goulart, in the eighth minute, and captain Earl Jean in the 60th. CL Financial San Juan Jabloteh made light work of United Petrotrin, as they cruised to a 3-0 victory at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella.
Trinidad and Tobago midfielder Aurtis Whit-ley broke Petrotrin’s resistance in the 21st minute, before Guyanese striker Nigel Codrington doubled the lead in the 39th and another forward, Kerry Noray, ending the scoring in the 79th, as Jabloteh jumped to second on the standings with 17 points, ten adrift of Connection. North East Stars’ miserable season continued when they were beaten 2-0 by Caledonia AIA/Fire at the Sangre Grande Recreation Ground. St Lucian striker Titus Elva opened Caledonia’s account in the 32nd minute while Abdullah Phillip sealed the win on the hour-mark. North East’s worries were compounded when national defender Glenton Wolfe was sent off in the 71st minute for a tough tackle.
