Teelucksingh leads TT U-19s fightback

KINGSTOWN, St Vincent: Spinner Dane Teelucksingh bowled Trinidad and Tobago back into their all-important game against Guyana in the TCL West Indies Under-19 Challenge series at the Sion Hill Ground yesterday.

After being bundled out for 133 with Kieron Pollard topscoring with 74, Teelucksingh took four wickets for 18 runs to leave Guyana 113 for six wickets at the close.

Guyana won the toss and inserted the Trinidadians and what followed was a procession of batsmen.

But sensible batting by Pollard who found a useful partner in Sunil Narine who scored 17, saved face for Trinidad and Tobago.

When the Guyanese batted, they too lost wicket regularly and lost Richard Ramdeen who was forced to retire hurt on 41, while Gajanand Singh scored 38.

Barbados bowled out champions Jamaica for 110 at the Arnos Vale "A" Ground, but were struggling on 79 for five at close.

But at the Arnos Vale ‘B’ Ground Windward Islands led by Ronald Etienne with 65, Andre Fletcher 64 and heron Campbell 48, piled up 261 against neighbours Leeward Islands who reached 36 without loss at the close.
