Sankar, Lall top second day shoot
PETTY Officer Takoor Sankar and Justin Lall emerged the top marksmen yesterday on the second day of the National Fullbore Rifle Shooting Championships at Tucker Valley, Chaguaramas. In hot conditions that tested the ability of the shooters, low scores were the order of the day. Top marksman BWIA Captain Norris Gomez and his daughter Caroline also experienced problems with their rifles which opened a window of opportunity for their rivals. However Lall prevailed in the X-Class topping the 300-yard competition, placing second over 600-yards and grabbing third over 500 yards for an aggregate of 157.16 out of a possible 160.32. Sankar excelled in the O-Class placing on top over 600 yards. He was also runner-up in the 300-yard and 500-yard categories to finish with an overall aggregate of 153.9 out of a possible 160.32.
