Bahamas, Bajans in World Cup rugby decider tonight

BAHAMAS and Barbados will be engaged in a crucial Rugby World Cup qualifier at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo from 7.15 pm tonight.

Bahamas, the North Caribbean champs, have been in Trinidad for the past few days and held training sessions at the Queen’s Park Savannah as well as the Mucurapo venue last night.

The Bajans, who have lifted the South Caribbean title, were expected in Trinidad yesterday. Canadian Alan Gray will serve as referee for the regional battle, with Trinidad and Tobago’s Anthony Pontiflette and Paul Mowser handling the line duties.

Blaine Chee Ping is the fourth official.

And North American and West Indies Rugby Association (NAWI-RA) secretary Brian Lewis has been appointed as the match commissioner.
