Lawyers can cook too!
There was a big turn out on Saturday night at the Cotton Tree Foundation fund-raiser "Lawyers Can Cook." The third annual competition was held at Pier 1, Chaguaramas. There were scores of different dishes both local and international. In addition to the usual entertainment there were many prizes to be won both by chiefs and patrons. Dishes were named after legal terms or words. The winner of this year’s competition was attorney Gregory Delzin with "Informa Porkarms and Porkdish." Second place went to Jonathan Walker with "Wonton and Shellfish Conduct," while third place went to Pat Martin’s desert — "Don’t have sex, have cheesecake." All funds realised from this event will assist in funding programmes of the Cotton Tree Foundation such as the Pre- School, Homework Club, Information and Communication Technology Centre, the library and a Legal Aid programme dedicated to ensuring that the rights of the community members and children in particular are upheld.
