Mas in Tobago
Hundreds of revellers took to Lower Milford Road in Scarborough on Saturday where they were adjudged at three different points along the route. Unlike the morning where there was mass confusion with violence that marred the j’ouvert celebrations, there were lots of merriment and joyfulness in the afternoon as band after band jumped up to the music coming from various music trucks. Some trucks and masqueraders were from Trinidad. The band Akin in particular comprised several Trinidadian personalities including Ingrid Lashley, CEO of the Trinidad and Tobago Mortgage Finance Company. the peaceful atmosphere that pervaded throughout the evening and well into the night made good for a lovely Tobago Carnival parade of the bands, followed by the steelbands that came out at six o’clock for the "las lap" competition.
