Ames slips to 46th spot in world rankings
NEW YORK: Trinidad and Tobago’s international golf star Stephen Ames, absent from the circuit since his Top-ten place finish at the WGC-American Express Championship two weeks ago, has slipped in the world rankings to 46th this week. American left-hander Phil Mickelson is in third position, followed by the South Africans Retief Goosen and Ernie Els. World Golf Rankings: 1 Tiger Woods (USA); 2 Vijay Singh (Fiji); 3 Phil Mickelson (USA); 4 Retief Goosen (S.Africa); 5 Ernie Els (S.Africa); 6 Sergio Garcia (Spain); 7 Jim Furyk (USA); 8 Adam Scott (Australia); 9 Chris DiMarco (USA); 10 David Toms (USA); 46 Stephen Ames (TT).
