Harnarine sinks Courts golf title
HARRY HARNARINE got the better of his rivals to claim the Open Division of the sixth annual Courts Golf Tournament, which took place recently at the St Andrew’s Golf Course, Moka, Maraval. Harnarine earned a total of 40 points, one more than Deryck Gonsalves, while Mark Henderson, Sonny Maharaj and Edward Grell were next on 37. De Anna Gregory took the women’s prize after amassing 38 points, while Sigrunn Lillelokken finished in second spot, also on 38. And Rasheed Ali captured the seniors’ trophy with 40 points, followed by Rae Stewart on 38 and Hamish Knox 37. During the prize-distribution ceremony, all winners were presented with a television set each while the runners-up received individual mix masters. Jordan Stephens won the prize for being Clostest To the Pin on the 15th hole.
