Jones out Bahrain qualifiers
KENWYNE JONES will miss the forthcoming FIFA World Cup final round home-and-away qualifiers against Bahrain, on November 12 and 16, due to a hamstring injury. Making this revelation was national coach Leo Beenhakker, during a media conference at the VIP Lounge, Piarco International Airport yesterday. Beenhakker noted that the utility player suffered the injury during a training session with his club Southampton, with a replacement likely to be named today. Beenhakker also commented on the recent saga involving ex-TT scout David Nakhid, stating that he was not prepared to accept anyone who will pose any sort of problems to the team’s atmosphere. And he said he was also disappointed with FIFA’s recent ruling regarding the ineligibility of Aston Villa’s Jlloyd Samuel. The Dutch-born coach who returned from Amsterdam via London last night, was pleased with the impression made by Samuel, both on and off the field.
