Bas is the Man of the Moment
THE EDITOR: This is an open letter to all UNC supporters, who will be the final arbiters and decision makers on the fate of the UNC. The popular belief is that the one-month-old wrangling must now stop. Findings indicate that Mr Basdeo Panday is regarded as the man of the moment. The Executive, as it is, must stay, although the previous executive (before the recount) was preferable. Panday must remain as leader of the opposition, because of new revelations. The victory by the patriots must be accepted and regarded as "The People’s Choice", his slate whipped the patriots although he did not contest, and if Mr Panday is relieved as the Opposition Leader, do you foresee what will happen at the parliamentary level? The PNM would be in their glee, because there will be two oppositions, and TT would be worse off than before. Presently, the most important decision to be made, is the immediate inclusion of Ramesh Maharaj. This is not a battle against Ramesh, but against the PNM. Speed only shortens the time, but not the distance, and time we don’t have. Just like the silkworm, which spins from its own body the cocoons which proves to be its tomb. Men spin from their own minds the cage which will eventually entrap them. The following equations will certainly be applicable at the juncture:- Panday + Yetming + Jack + Dookeran = A PNM victory.
