‘Green Machine’ retain Intercol crown


THE "GREEN Machine" St Augustine copped their second successive East Zonal RBTT Intercol title after defeating the highly-fancied San Juan 2-1 in the final at the Larry Gomes Stadium, Arima.


Kempes Villafana put St Augustine in front early in yesterday’s exchange, while Mark Alibey gave the "Green Machine" a 2-0 halftime lead.


Akeem Joseph pulled one back for San Juan in the second half but St Augustine held firm until the final whistle.


Scarborough successfully retained their Tobago Zonal Intercol crown with a 2-0 triumph over Signal Hill at the Dwight Yorke Stadium, Bacolet on Thursday.


Correy Carrington and Kaylon McKenna scored on either side of the half to ensure victory for Scarborough, and a spot in the national quarterfinals.


Meanwhile, the North Zonal semis will be held tomorrow at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo, with Fatima facing St Anthony’s at 3 pm followed by the clash between Malick and defending champs Mucurapo.
