Racing gives way to SFA Yearling Sales


RACING at Santa Rosa Park, Arima, takes a holiday Saturday.


It gives way to this year’s Stud Farm Association Yearling Sales which is scheduled for Sunday and prospective owners are reminded to walk with their cheque books.


A total of 107 lots have been nominated to pass through the sales ring with only one coming from the Scott’s Stud in Petit Valley, and that’s a well-bred bay colt by Windy Hill out of Sonoric.


The powerful Poon Tip Stud Farm of Santa Cruz will put up 18 lots with a chestnut filly by Freshly Squeezed/Iador need taking a look at.


And there is a bay colt by Gilgamesh out of Finder’s Wish from the same stud and a full brother to Integreat, a winner last time out, by Freshly Squeezed/Happy Luv.


Another stud well represented by 16 lots is the Rancho Caballero Stud of D’Abadie.


From that farm comes a chestnut filly by Freshly Squeezed out of Queen’s Hall and a bay colt by Gilgamesh out of Up Tempo.


The Ortinola Stud in Maracas Valley has produced 10 lots including a bay colt by Glivamesh out of Concert Hall and a chestnut filly by Freshly Squeezed out of Concorde.


There are a number of lots from first time American-bred stallion coming out of Bob’s Farm, Chaguanas including a bay filly by Unzipped out of Indian Music.


And there is another Unzipped bay filly out of Queensway among the seven consigned by Amigo Farm, Mayaro.


The Humming Bird Stables, racecourse Road, Arima, will send eight to the sale including a roan colt by Unzipped out of Sea Queen.
