Two murder suspects held
TWO murder suspects ages 19 and 22 were among twenty-five persons arrested in an exercise conducted in the Arima area on Friday. The exercise coordinated by Snr Supt Ghany in charge of Northern Division Police was carried out between 3 and 10 pm in the Arima area. The 25 people who are between the ages of 19 and 33, were arrested, inclusive of one female for possession of drugs, ammunition and outstanding warrants.
Twenty-three of the arrested persons are to appear before an Arima magistrate tomorrow, while the two murder suspects are expected to appear before another magistrate later this week pending the decision of the Director of Public Prosecution tomorrow. The men were held for the murder of Joseph Self on November 9, whose charred body was found in Blanchisseuse, and Israel Mohan alias Dole Chadee who was found with stab wounds to his body on November 11 at Red Hill, D’Abadie. Also included in the exercise were ASP Badal, Inspector Daniel, Sgt Hamilton, Cpls Winston, Lalla and Baptist and PC Katwaro.
