Meeting new lawyers

THE Law Association hosted an orientation presentation ceremony for new members of the profession who were admitted to practise law last month. The new attorneys were welcomed by President of the Association Russell Martineau SC. They heard from several guest speakers who familiarised them with various aspects of the profession and what would be required of them as attorneys. Speakers were Justice Sebastian Ventour,  Magistrate Sonia Aleong, Hendrickson Seunath SC, Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee, Gilbert Peterson SC, Director of Legal Aid and Advisory Authority, Patricia Dindyal, Secretary of the Association and junior attorney Ravita Babwah. At the end each attorney was presented with a copy of the Legal Profession Act 1986.
