St James man shot while buying roti

A St James man is now warded at the Port-of-Spain General Hospital (PoSGH) in a satisfactory condition after being shot in his abdomen. According to reports around 1.30 pm on Friday, Pedro Espinet, 36, of Mooniram Street, St James was standing in line to purchase a roti outside Angie’s Roti Shop, Duncan Street, Port-of-Spain when he heard a loud explosion. He then felt a burning sensation around his stomach. The bleeding man was rushed to the PoSGH where he remains warded. Police have no motive for the shooting. Cpl Charles is continuing inquiries.
