No ransom demand for Samdaye

Relatives of kidnap victim Samdaye Rampersad have not yet heard from her abductors.

Her worried relatives yesterday said they are now concerned about Rampersad’s health, and begged kidnappers to ensure that she received her medication for diabetes and asthma.

The 45-year-old woman was snatched by three men from her shop at Irving Street, San Juan, on Saturday night.

Up to late yesterday, the kidnappers had not contacted her family.

Mervyn Rampersad, the kidnapped woman’s brother, told Newsday that family members have not slept or eaten a proper meal since the kidnapping.

He urged the kidnappers to contact him as soon as possible to facilitate his sister’s release.

Officers of the Anti-Kidnapping Squad are investigating.
