Cocoyea man in court for murder
A-20-YEAR-OLD man of Cocoyea Village, San Fernando, appeared before a San Fernando magistrate charged with the murder of Romin Jarvis, who was stabbed outside his home when he attempted to break-up a card game on Friday night. Labourer Eric Mohammed, of Elizabeth Street, Cocoyea, was not called on to plead to the indictable charge of murder, when he appeared on Wednesday afternoon before Deputy Chief Magistrate Mark Wellington. The charge arose from an incident at 9 pm in front of Jarvis’ home at Grange Road, Cocoyea. It is alleged that Jarvis, 29, was fatally stabbed after he got into an argument with some men playing cards in front of his gateway. Acting Cpl Pariman of the San Fernando Police Station charged Mohammed on Tuesday. The magistrate remanded Mohammed into custody to re-appear on December 9.
