Now ex-cop held in Koury’s killing
Continued investigations into the murder of Dr Eddie Koury have resulted in the arrest of a 30-year-old former police officer who is currently being questioned by police officers. Newsday has been reliably informed that the suspect, who hails from Four Roads, Scarborough, Tobago, was picked up on Thursday at his home in Febeau Village, Laventille, by investigating officers. While the suspect was in police custody, four other men already charged for the murder of the 38-year-old chemical engineer appeared before a Tunapuna magistrate. Appearing before Magistrate Indra Ramoo-Haynes in the Tunapuna First Court were Kaleb Neville-Donaldson of Rockley Vale, Tobago; Sean James of Kelly Street, Tunapuna, Jerome Murray of Mason Hall, Tobago and Terry Moore, also of Tobago. During yesterday’s proceedings, attorneys representing accused Jerome Murray excused themselves from the matter. According to attorney Amerelle Francis, who appeared for attorney Larry Alleyene-Forde, they had not been properly retained. Attorney Wendy Dougdeen Bally appeared for attorney Pamela Elder SC, who is representing Donaldson in the murder case. Karl Hudson-Phillips QC, who has been retained to seek the interest of the State, was yesterday represented by attorney Brent Winter. Koury was snatched from his workplace in Macoya by armed men on September 23. His headless body was found a few days later.
