Warner calls for greater teamwork


SPECIAL Advisor to the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation (TTFF) Jack Austin Warner has emphasised his belief that sport is a most powerful instrument in promoting teamwork on the job.


Warner, who is also the vice-president of FIFA and president of CONCACAF, was speaking at the Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC) General Sports and Cultural Club ninth annual awards.


The ceremony took place at the Conference Room, Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce Building, Westmoorings.


Warner lauded the work being done by the Club and also challenged the members to share its expertise with other similar organisations.


T&TEC chairman Devanand Ramlal also spoke at the function, and revealed the Commission’s plans to construct a multi-million dollar sporting complex for the advancement of sport amongst its employees and the wider population on a whole.


As far as the distribution of awards are concerned, the Southern Area Sports and Cultural Club was named as the Best Performing Area Sports Club, followed by the Northern Area Sports Club.


Top calypsonian Brian London was voted as the Most Outstanding Personality in Sports and Culture while Lester Lal was the Sport Administrator of the Year.
