Aranjuez man kidnapped again
Kidnappers have demanded $1 million for the safe release of Kenny Harry, who was snatched from just outside his home at Nanan Trace, Aranjuez, at 8 pm on Tuesday. His worried mother, Rosie Harry, yesterday said she does not know how to deal with the situation. Harry, a father of two, had also been kidnapped on September 7 this year. Kidnappers had demanded an undisclosed sum of money for his safe return, but Harry, who was being kept in a water-filled hole in the Santa Cruz forest, managed to untie his hands and escaped on September 13. He was treated for cuts, bruises and dehydration. The 35-year-old man told Newsday that he was unsure why he was kidnapped, since he was a farmer and not a rich person. He said it was a horrible experience, and he had decided to take the necessary precautions to avoid being kidnapped again. Rosie yesterday said that her son was chatting with a neighbour on Tuesday, when he was bundled into a vehicle. Officers of the E-999 found a pair of handcuffs at the scene. Harry said that officers of the Anti-Kidnapping Squad were also contacted and dusted for fingerprints. The worried woman said she is concerned over the safety of her son, and has been praying for his release. She added that she was contacted by the kidnappers who demanded a $1 million ransom. The kidnappers called again and she told them that she did not have that kind of money. The male caller then instructed her to try and put together whatever she could, and promised to call back. She is calling on the police to use all their resources at their disposal to rescue her son. Anti-Kidnapping Squad officers told Newsday that they are following leads in the abduction.
