Waterloo reward parents, coaches, sponsors

At their close of season function at Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva on Saturday last, they decided to reward coaches, parents and sponsors with certificates of appreciation.

Addressing the gathering, WISP president Stephen Bartholomew said "reflecting on three good years," he decided to highlight the sponsors, coaches and most of all parents for their contribution in the growing success of the institute.

According to Bartholomew, the institute have on their books over 130 boys and girls ranging in ages from Under-4 to Under-16.

He thanked the Waterloo High School for allowing his organisation use of their training field, and noted that a group of 43 persons — players, parents and coaches toured Canada as guests of Waterloo Minor Soccer Club.

And he jocularly said, "I am happy none of the players suffered any major injury to make claims against ALGICO Insurance Com-pany," one of their sponsors.

Sponsors Rooplal Beharry, managing-director of Croisee Supermarket Limited addressed the youngsters on discipline, while CEO of the Couva/Tabaquite/ Talparo Regional Corporation Pamela Doon told them about the opportunities which exist in football.

Central Football Association secretary Lennox Sirjusingh handed a pair of boots to the institute’s Velera Duprey who was voted Most Valuable Player in the open CFA women division.

To end the function, there were matches played against Petrotrin Fyzabad/ Forest Football Development in the Under-17 girls; Under-11, Under-13 and Under-15 age groups.
