$1M for kidnapped teen’s release

THE kidnappers of Williamsville teenager Rajiv Changoor have demanded a one-million dollar  ransom for his safe release. This was confirmed by police who also told Newsday the kidnappers contacted Changoor’s worried relatives on Wednesday, with their ransom demand. In a brief interview, Changoor’s mother Carol said she was still in a state of shock over her son’s kidnapping. “Today is just one of those days where I am just blank. We are just waiting and waiting,” the worried woman said.


Changoor, 19, a student of the School of Business and Computer Science (SBCS) in Champs Fleurs, was snatched by three gunmen in front his home around 9 pm on Saturday. The family members own and operate a supermarket on the ground floor of their Eccles Village, Williamsville home.  According to police reports, Changoor was snatched by the men as he was about to enter the family businessplace after returning from an errand. Changoor was dragged and bundled into a silver-grey car. Officers of the Anti-kidnapping Squad (AKS), Gasparillo and Princes Town Police Stations are continuing investigations.
