Cop under probe for raping cop

A MALE policeman attached to an elite police unit is currently under investigation for the alleged rape of a female colleague. According to reports, the officer left his Port-of-Spain office at 8.30 pm last Thursday and went to the Central Police Station, where he asked for a constable to accompany him. A woman police constable (WPC) was sent and she and the officer drove to a house at Oropune Village, Piarco where the officer of the elite crime-fighting unit allegedly raped and assaulted the woman officer. Following the attack, the female officer went to the Arouca Police Station where she lodged a formal report against the officer. Police sources yesterday told Newsday they were continuing their investigations into the incident.
