PAYMASTER ROBBED AND MURDERED

According to reports, Kaliff, 40, of Upper Seventh Avenue, Malick, was on his way to the Deltacon site at Chaconia Crescent, Maracas St Joseph, at 2.30 pm yesterday, when he was shot in the chest by a gunman who grabbed the payroll and escaped in a waiting car with $17,000.

Shocked workers rushed Kaliff to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital (PoSGH) where he died. Police later held two Laventille men in Port-of-Spain who are assisting them with the investigation.

Visiting the scene were Supt Philip, ASP Farrell, Sgt Daniel, PC Ramjattan and Cpl Eric Parks of the Homicide Bureau.

Meanwhile police have identified murder victim number nine as Curtis Stowe, 39, alias Fruity, of Eight Street, Malick.

According to reports, Stowe, a well known drug pusher with a number of pending drug and arms charges before the courts, was with friends at Nelson Street at 5.55 pm on Thursday, when a gunman shot him several times about the body. Stowe was rushed to the PoSGH where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

ASP Rodriguez, Insp Boyce, Sgt Stewart, Cpl Charles and Brown, PC Ransom, Spence and Sgt Kennedy of the Homicide Bureau are investigating.
