TT girls blanked 7-1 by Canada


CANADA inflicted a 7-1 whipping on Trinidad and Tobago as the CONCACAF Women’s Under-20 Final Round Qualification began at the Estadio Luis Pirata Fuentes, Vera Cruz, Mexico yesterday.


Captain Aveann Douglas converted a second-half penalty for Trinidad and Tobago, who trailed 4-0 at the halftime interval in the Group "A" contest.


Among the scorers for the Canadians were Lisa Collison, Veronique Maranda, Jodi-Ann Robinson, Kaylen Kyle and Rheanne Sleiman.


Trinidad and Tobago will oppose hosts Mexico tomorrow in the second match of a double-header, while the Canadians meet Panama in the earlier encounter.
