Federation get 10,769 World Cup tickets
FIFA, the world governing body for football have allocated the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation only 10,769 tickets for the Soca Warriors three Group "B" matches in this year’s World Cup Finals in Germany. The figure represents a deficit of 24,008 requested by the local governing body for football. According to the local Football Federation, they had requested 34,777 tickets from world governing body FIFA. This leaves them in a spot as they will be having no pre-sold tickets, and applicants will be informed by Thursday the status of their application and the next step they must take in the process of acquiring tickets. Successful applicants for tickets, on being approved must submit their name, passport number, date of birth and nationality of each ticket holder and pay 50 percent of the total cost of the approved tickets by February 2, with the final 50 percent paid by March 2. There shall be a second allocation of tickets on February 3, however, in the event any approved purchaser fails to meet the February 2 deadline. A special TTFF Ticket Bureau has been established in the TT/Germany 2006 Ltd office at St Vincent Street, Port-of-Spain, for the processing of all successful applications. Warner paid a one-day visit to St Lucia on Friday last for the launching of their US$600,000 FIFA Goal Project, He leaves for Vera Cruz, Mexico tomorrow for the closing stages of the CONCACAF Women’s Under-20 qualifying tournament, in his capacity as CONCACAF president.
