Man gunned down

A 21-year-old man who was released from prison shortly before Christmas last year for possession of arms and ammunition was gunned down last night at Duncan Street, Port-of-Spain. Police report that Michael Jessop of Straker Village, Laventille, was standing at Duncan Street in the plannings at 8.45 pm, when several loud explosions were heard.


Jessop was found on the ground in a pool of blood. He had been shot five times in the head. A party of homicide officers as well as officers from the Besson Street Police Station went to the scene, and the body was ordered removed to the Forensic Science Centre. Police sources revealed that Jessop was a suspect in several shootings and gang-related activities.
