Cavs stun Army

After the teams were knotted up 11-11 at the end of the opening stanza, Cavaliers inched ahead 23-21 at the half time interval, and they broke open the match in the third period, at the end of which they led comfortably by nine goals 38-29 before going on to victory.

Debra Bain scored 27 goals from 31 attempts and Debra Beckles had 24 of 42 for the winners, while Karlene sylvester scored 36 goals from 54 attempts and Kimeria James sank four from nine.

In the other match contested on Tuesday, Bermudez X had to struggle throughout for a 47-44 victory over Cilnetres. The winners led 13-7 at the end of the first quarter and were seven goals to the good at the half 27-20, but Cilnetres launched a strong third-quarter rally which left them just two goals in arrears 35-33. And it was game on in the final period with Bermudez X just holding on for the win.

Kathy James netted 28 goals from 33 attempts, Julia Britto had 14 of 18 and Sharon Wilson got five of 11 for Bermudez X.

Joycelyn Marcelle scored 15 of 19 attempts, Giselle Navarro made 20 of 40 and Akeida Bascombe put in nine of 19 for Cilnetres.
