National Security Ministry launches logo contest
The Ministry of National Security and the Inter-American Development Bank launched their Citizen Security Programme Logo Competition on Thursday at Temple Court in Port-of-Spain. Inter-American Development Bank country representative, William Robinson, project consultant Eugene Williams, Soca artistes Adesh Samaroo, Neil "Iwer" George, KMC, and Sanell Dempster, along with other representatives from various ministries, attended the launch. National Security Minister Martin Joseph expressed confidence in the programme, saying that it is designed to counteract and control acts of violence for youths at risk. "We should give it a chance. We are also strengthening other agencies," Joseph said. William Robinson said that the IADB is working in collaboration with governments to help empower communities to address the crime problem. The first prize is $10,000 in cash and is limited to persons under the age of 30.
