Rain fails to dampen cricket

ALTHOUGH rain severely affected play on the first day of the Carib Beer Series match between Trinidad and Tobago and the Windwards at Shaw Park in Tobago there was no shortage of excitement. At the end of the first day on Friday, the Windwards were 48 for the loss of two wickets when play was only possible after tea.

And yesterday wickets contined to tumble as the visitors were all out for 218. And in reply Trinidad and Tobago were tottering at 36 for four. The undoubted star of the show yesterday was Dave “Tadpole” Mohammed, the Trinidad and Tobago leg spinner who captured six wickets for 72 runs. Trinidad and Tobago share top position in the six-team competition with Barbados while the Windwards are at the bottom of the table. Play resumes at 9.30 am today.
