TSTT billing service is a headache

THE EDITOR: As the saga of TSTT experience goes on for hundreds of customers nationwide, kindly permit me to share my experience.

For some reason, I received several of my utility bills late for the month of January including my new five page GSM Cellular bill. (dated December 24 2005).

On November 23, 2005, I "migrated" to the GSM network from TDMA with the purchase of my brand new Motorola phone from TSTT. Fortunately, I was able to retain my TDMA Cell number.

I clearly noticed that although the telephone numbers remained the same, the new ‘bmobile’ statement carried a different account number to my previous TDMA bill. On Tuesday January 31, 2006, I called the ever reliable 824-TSTT number and after ten minutes waiting, I was able to speak to one Ms Ramroop.

On my TDMA bill dated January 3, 2006 and due February 2, 2006, she confirmed that I was in credit in the sum of $592.987. I was expected to pay my new bmobile in the sum of $176.01 on January 23, 2006 so I was eight days past due.

Quite flustered, I asked Ms Ramroop about the status of my $592.98. She explained that TSTT was in the process of transferring those TDMA accounts that were in credit to the new GSM accounts. She could not tell me when this task would be completed but hastened to advise me that I should pay my GSM account. I complied with her request.

I may be wrong but I do not recall seeing any public announcement by TSTT about the status of these "migrating" accounts but Mr TSTT owes me money.

In this regard, I am kindly calling on TSTT to make a conclusive statement about my ‘floating’ $592.98 failing which I expect to receive my refund in the mail as expeditiously as possible.
