$1.5M for President’s Award

THE President’s Award of Trinidad and Tobago (TPATT) will today receive a grant of $1.5 million from the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs. TPATT President Arthur Maul is expected to receive the cheque from Sports Minister Roger Boynes at the ministry’s Abercromby Street office in Port-of-Spain. The cheque represents the first phase of a three-part grant to facilitate the refurbishment and extension of the organisation's administrative offices at Narine Street, Curepe. The new building will serve as a functional administrative home and also allow for in-house training.

Phases two and three of the project will include construction of a multi-purpose hard court and a skills training unit, respectively. TPATT is a non-profit, voluntary organisation dedicated to the training of young persons between the ages of 14 and 25 in areas of skill, physical, recreation, service and expedition. Successful participants in the programme receive bronze, silver and gold awards. TPATT is an affiliation of the Duke of Edinburgh Awards International Scheme and the Caribbean Award Scheme Council (CASC).
