Scotiabank $$ for Soca Warriors

SCOTIABANK Trinidad and Tobago Limited recently contributed $91,014 to the Trinidad and Tobago football team to assist in defraying the cost of participating in the upcoming World Cup Finals to be held in Germany. The cheque was handed over to Jack Warner, Special Advisor to the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation, who accepted on behalf of the team. The donation was made possible through a Scotiabank promotion run during November 8 to 17 2005, in which$1 was donated to the Soca Warriors for every Scotiabank ATM transaction conducted with the use of the Scotiacard.

“The fact that the Soca Warriors have qualified for the World Cup 2006 fills us with a tremendous sense of pride here at Scotiabank. As a responsible corporate citizen, we recognised that it was imperative to come to their assistance and demonstrate our support in a tangible manner, as they embark on their historical debut in Germany,” said Richard P Young, Managing-Director of Scotiabank Trinidad and Tobago Limited. Scotiabank is known for actively supporting the sports community in Trinidad and Tobago through their involvement in West Indies cricket and the annual Schools’ Table Tennis Tournament.
