St Mary’s, Tableland in keen tussle

Last Sunday, St Mary’s batted first and scored 202 for eight wickets declared to which Tableland responded with 18 for one at the close.

Leading the way for St Mary’s was Larry Ramlakhan with 71 not out and Desmond Mohammed 51 not out. The pair came together with the score at 88 for eight and finished with an unbroken partnership of 114 runs for the ninth wicket.

At Barrackpore, Yorkshire recently demoted from the Southern Superleague are on top against Victoria after the first day. Batting first Yorkshire scored a paltry 133 all out with Feraz Ali getting 25.

At the close, pacer Abdool Mohammed had given them the edge with figures of three for six, as Victoria closed on 16 for four.

In the final Division One match, Untouchables batting first against Blended at Princes Town finished on 220 for seven. The best of the Blended bowlers was Feraz Abdool with three for 30. Meanwhile, the Mid-week limited overs tournament bowled off in the week and Rio Claro Sports rushed to a commanding 10-wicket victory.

Playing against Christian Conquerors at the Rio Claro Recreation Ground, the home team dominated to win. Batting first Conquerors made 84 all out to which Rio Claro replied with 89 for no loss off just 5.5 overs.

Ellon Lewis scored 51 not out, while Marcus Ali got an unbeaten 35.

Other teams winning in the first round were MCC and St Mary’s.
