Six charged with raping two teens
POLICE yesterday arrested six men in connection with the gang-raping of two schoolgirls at a house in Enterprise Village, Central Trinidad, on Saturday. According to a police report, the men, who are between ages of 17 and 21, were held at 3 am during a police exercise. All six men were placed on identification parade yesterday afternoon at the Chaguanas CID office. According to a police report, two girls, 15 and 14, went to a house at Tobago Road, Enterprise Village, when eight men entered and ordered them into a room. The report stated that the men took turns raping and sexually assaulting the teens. Yesterday, the men were charged with rape and, in addition, two counts of robbery with violence. One of the six, police said, was charged with grievous sexual assault while another was charged with possession of marijuana. The arrests came during an exercise by a police party which included Insp Stephen Ramsubhag, Cpls Mitchell Mohan, Marlon Alexander and Kirt Sheppard, and PCs Sulliman Balkaran, Alan Thomas, Curtis Pierre and Wayne Calliste. The men will appear before a Chaguanas magistrate today.
