Listen to Granny

THE EDITOR: Guns play such funny games. Maybe we are to be blamed. You will say why we the nation of Trinidad and Tobago should have all this crime. The crime is not just here in Trinidad and Tobago, it is worldwide, but for the size of our beautiful Trinidad and Tobago, it is too much. I am an old granny, but I know what is happening around me, caring a lot for the youth of our nation. When I meet a young man on the street, knowing he is a mother’s son, I say to myself, “would I ever see this boy again? Will this young man live to multiply our nation to fulfill his purpose in life?”

Let us think of the life God gave to us. No man should play games with his life. We shoot animals to eat, for fun, we shoot our brothers, precious lives are being wasted. God gives us life that we should enjoy it. Love each other. Putting your parents in jeopardy cannot satisfy or justify the rage that makes you think of a gun or a knife. We were born to live and by God’s grace we can, until he calls us home. Some of us were raised without a father in the home, the mother has to be father and mother. Sometimes it is impossible. Mothers try their best, that is all they can do. Fathers now and in the future take responsibility for your children. See that they grow in the knowledge of God. It is only God that can help us.
