Too much nastiness

THE EDITOR: Please publish this open letter to the Prime Minister.

Dear Mr Manning, many of us Trinidadians don’t want to hear that crime is not only engulfing Trinidad. Both yourself and Minister Joseph have made every effort in telling us that crime was also prevalent all over the world including the Caribbean.

Since members of your government are always so ready to bench mark, (comparing with) how about doing some bench marking with all the other Caribbean countries (third world like us) and tell the TT population why it is that Trinidad is behind in almost every social category, poverty, infant mortality, still deaths, health, corruption, education, environment, devalued dollar, modernising of public services, criminals in our protective services, and the list goes on. And while you are at it Mr Prime Minister, answer this: Is it that we are so cash strapped, we are now resorting to doing cat scans on animals in a people’s hospital? That same "state of the art" institution where ever year there are record infant deaths due to uncleanliness? Or like we like to say in Trinidad "nastiness." What can we say that has not already been said? Stop erecting unnecessary buildings and start taking care of us Mr Manning.
