BE MORE LOVING FOR EASTER

Scores of visitors to the island joined the Tobago Roman Catholic community yesterday at the St Joseph’s Convent School for the annual Ash ednesday morning mass. The Scarborough RC Church is currently being renovated. Students of the Scarborough RC Church, accompanied by their teachers, parents and fellow worshippers, comprised the majority of the congregation at the mass at which Fr Vincent Travers officiated.

However, two mini-bus loads of visitors from Trinidad showed up at the Mass to receive their ashes. In addressing the congregation, in particular the students, Travers reminded them of the significance of the ritual in preparation for the Lenten season and encouraged them to be “a little more helpful and loving” during the season so that, come Easter, they will be closer to being the person that “Jesus wants you to be.”
