According to a police report, a roadblock was in progress along Southern Main Road near the school, when lawmen stopped a car. The report stated that as policemen walked up to the driver of the vehicle, one of the occupants in the back seat jumped out.
One of the policemen went in pursuit of the man, who jumped over the school fence. Pupils playing in the schoolyard during the lunch break began to scream. Teachers ran out of the school building and saw the man running through the yard with the policeman in hot pursuit.
According to the report, some teachers quickly usherered all of the children back into the building. The police eventually caught the man behind the school with a quantity of marijuana.
