Man in court for Army cap
In addition, Ricardo Proverbs, 32, was called upon to answer charges of possession of marijuana, assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest and using obscene language.
When Proverbs appeared in the San Fernando Second Court before Magistrate Andrew Stroude, he pleaded “guilty” to the charge of possession of a prohibited army garment, but “not-guilty” to the other four charges.
Court prosecutor Sgt Wendell Fernando recommended a summary trial for the five charges. The offences allegedly arose out of an incident on Saturday when Proverbs was allegedly seen wearing the prohibited garment along High Street in San Fernando at about 5.10 pm.
Stroude denied Proverbs bail yesterday pending the outcome of a police trace. He was ordered to reappear in court on Friday.
