CariFin events to aid Lupus Society of TT
Race co-ordinator Wayne Roberts said yesterday the country’s financial institutions such as RBTT, Republic Bank, ALGICO, Guardian Life, Central Bank, RHAND Credit Union and Citibank among many others will take part.
The races will carry a registration fee of $30, from which $5 will go towards the Lupus Society.
Among the four events will be a One-Lap race around the Queen’s Park Savannah, Port-of-Spain carded for March 29.
According to Roberts approximately 150 participants will be taking part in the charity event.
The second race which is labelled the “Green Mile” will be a challenging one-mile lap on the inside track of the savannah.
This event will take place on April 5 and is also expected to generate a large turn-out on the challenging sand track.
The “Botanic Challenge” will be the third race in the line-up of events, and will be a two-lap race, starting from the Botanic Gardens up to the Emperor Valley Zoo and back on April 12.
This will be followed by an Aerobics Burn-Out at the Central Bank, Independence Square, Port- of-Spain on April 19.
Before the feature CariFin event is held, the series of events will conclude with a gruelling 40-mile torch run from the capital city to Couva.
The relay event will begin in front Central Bank, and proceed up the main road to Curepe and head down the Southern Main Road to the Republic Bank in Couva where it will finish on April 22.
