Woman, friend killed hours apart

Marvin Samuel, 29, of Building Three, John John, was at his apartment at about 5.30 pm on Friday when several loud explosions were heard.

Samuel was found in a pool of blood with gunshot wounds to the head.

Police investigators told SundayNewsday that Samuel was a close friend of murder victim Henry.

Henry was shot dead on Friday at John John by a man known to her.

Both Henry and Samuel are believed to have been killed after being accused of leaking key information to members of a rival gang.

Residents of John John said yesterday that they are bracing themselves for more murders involving gang members. They believe that the police are incapable of dealing with the killings.

Police investigators told SundayNewsday that they have issued a warrant for a key suspect in the murders of Henry and Samuel.

The 96th murder occurred at about 11.15 pm on Friday when Kurt Williams, 22, of Straker Village, Laventille, was at Pump Trace, when he was confronted by a man who shot him 15 times.

The body was viewed by a District Medical Officer and ordered removed to the Forensic Science Centre.

Police described the killing as gangrelated.
