C&W to decide on outsourcing
Three weeks ago, Sean Bryan, an executive of Cable and Wireless Jamaica, said that a decision on the deal would come within the next week or two, and that if an agreement was reached, the centre would have to be located in Jamaica.
However, Errol Miller, C&W vice-president of communications, said last week that “nothing has been finalised”.
Test trials have been conducted by C&W over the past nine weeks, where calls made to its contact centres in Jamaica have been routed to TT, where they are answered by agents in that country.
Accent has been using 40 Trinidadians in Trinidad and Tobago to operate C&W’s services, and several workers from C&W Jamaica have been to the twin-island republic to help train these workers.
