Birth of doubles

When we folded the single bara with a lots of channa in it most of the channa fell out.

One day a student on the wooden portion of the gallery shouted to Mr Singh, “Mr Singh, make it a double.” This new style started to pick up with us and we all began asking for “doubles.”

With the new type double, today it is much thicker and most students use the doubles and a soft drink as lunch. For the benefit of the young people of this country I wish to state that Naparima Boys College has two historical things of which we must be proud. The first was the introduction of Volleyball to Trinidad by Rev Swann a Canadian and now we have doubles.
